George Grosman

GEORGE GROSMAN was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia and has lived and spread the jazz and blues gospel on three continents (so far). He is a well-established guitarist, vocalist and producer in Toronto, ON. George has numerous CD’s to his credit, as well as music written for film, TV and the theater. His original music and songs by other artists that he has recorded has been receiving airplay on numerous radio stations across Canada and the U.S. One of George’s more unique accomplishments is to have scored a top 10 hit in Reykjavik, Iceland, in the mid-1990s. Apart from concentrating on his own music, George has also worked on many other artists’ projects; he has booked various festivals and generally made himself useful in all areas of the music biz. His main love remains the classic American songbook — early jazz and swing, though he’s also been known to listen to the Beatles, to Ry Cooder, Tom Waits and Stevie Wonder when no one’s looking.

In April 1996, George was diagnosed with Cochlear Hydrops, also called Atypical Meniere’s Disease. This syndrome causes progressive deafness, a feeling of fullness in the ear and a constant tinnitus, which varies in loudness. The affliction has lead George to one of the Internet’s forums dedicated to Meniere’s and this is where he first met Stacey Nyborg. The rest, as you can see if you’re holding this CD in your hand, is history!
